Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about trial lessons, pricing, tutors, and online support.

What is the £25 trial lesson?

It is a full 60-minute lesson with real teaching, a short diagnostic, and a clear recommendation for the next step.

Is the trial lesson a real lesson?

Yes. The tutor teaches, checks understanding, and uses the session to identify strengths, gaps, and priorities.

What happens after the trial?

We recap what the tutor noticed and suggest the best route forward. You can continue weekly, book ad hoc lessons, or pause.

Do students usually keep the same tutor?

Where possible, yes. We aim to keep students with the same tutor so lessons build properly over time. If a change is needed, we will explain the reason and recommend the best alternative.

Are tutors DBS checked?

Yes. Tutors hold Enhanced DBS checks and lessons are run with clear safeguarding expectations.

Can parents sit in on lessons?

Yes. Parents can sit in on online lessons or join for the recap at the end.

Which exam boards do you cover?

We cover AQA, Edexcel, OCR, CAIE, and WJEC across our main GCSE and A-level subjects.

What if we do not know the exam board?

That is fine. Select Not sure on the Start form and we can help confirm it from school information or past papers.

How much do lessons cost?

The trial lesson is £25. Ongoing GCSE lessons start from £30 per lesson, with A-level plans priced by level and frequency.

Can we cancel or reschedule?

Individual lessons can usually be rescheduled with 24 hours' notice. Monthly plans can be cancelled with 7 days' notice.

How do online lessons work?

Lessons run online using a secure video platform. Tutors bring exam-board focused materials and finish with clear next steps.

Do you support urgent exam preparation?

Yes, where tutor availability allows. Tell us the exam date, subject, board, and most urgent topics on the Start form.

Can you help if my child is below their target grade?

Yes. Many students come to tutoring because their current grade is below where they want or need to be. We focus on identifying the main gaps, improving exam technique, and building a clear plan for progress.

Can you help after disappointing mock results?

Yes. Mock results are often useful because they show exactly where marks are being lost. We can use mock papers, teacher feedback, and exam-board mark schemes to create a focused improvement plan.

Do you support IGCSE?

Yes, where we have suitable tutor availability for the subject and exam board. Please include the exam board when you submit the trial lesson request, or choose Not sure if you do not know.

How do we pay for lessons?

After the trial lesson request, we will confirm the next step and explain payment options clearly before any regular lessons begin. No payment is taken through the trial request form.

Is there a long contract?

No. We keep the process simple and clear. Regular plans can be cancelled with the notice period shown on the pricing page.

Can lessons increase near exams?

Yes, subject to tutor availability. Some students move to more frequent lessons before mocks, GCSEs, or A-level exams.

What should we send before the first lesson?

Useful information includes the student's year group, subject, exam board, recent grades, mock papers, teacher feedback, and any topics they find difficult. Do not worry if you do not have everything ready.
